Antiques - Roadtrip!

After a 3 year hiatus, it was great to return to the wonderous world of antique hunting. Road trip, not really, New Oxford is only minutes away. Golden Lane Antique Mall hasn't changed much in all this time . . . although there were dozens of new vendors who've set up shop there since 2002.
I suppose what makes the experience so enjoyable is finding unusual items of interest as well as the old favorite ones. Among the more interesting items were a cranberry pickle castor (pristine), a collection of 40's vintage fishing license buttons, a showcase full of condensed milk jars, advertising collectables (Wolfgang Candies, Foust Distillery, and Wheaties' premiums - car emblem collection, et. al.). There's a dealer who specializes in antique and reproduction hardware, hinges, cabinet pulls, and door mechanisms - a great resource.
And then there it was . . . hanging on the wall in a secluded second floor alcove . . . an Eastlake Walnut Pier Mirror in excellent condition . . . and a good price!!! After some dickering the price got better and the mirror has a new home! I've been looking for one of these for some time. It's perfect mounted in our entry hall. A good day!!!
