28th Division PA National Guard

28TH DIVISION INFANTRY (MECH) is the oldest army division in the USA.

28TH DIVISION ARTILLERY (OK, I'm a retired "red leg' and a little bias)

The cannoneers of the 28th "Keystone" Division have a long history of service to the Commonwealth and to the nation. The field artillery units have roots that can be traced back to the pre-Revolutionary militia. The command has battle streamers earned in campaigns from nearly every conflict in American history. Our soldiers still continue to serve the Commonwealth and the nation both at home and in Europe.

The 28th Division Artillery (DIVARTY), headquartered in Hershey, is made up of three artillery battalions located in Carlisle, Wilkes-Barre and New Castle. The DIVARTY arsenal is comprised of 155mm self-propelled Howitzers including the Paladin--the Army's most up-to-date and techonologically advance artillery system. Recent DIVARTY activities include participation in WARFIGHTER exercises with the V (US) Corps in Grafenwoehr, Germany; technical assistance visits with the XVIII Airborne Corps (Fort Bragg, NC) and the 3rd Infantry Division (Fort Stewart, GA); and deployments to Bosnia and Kosovo during which DIVARTY members provided fire support to the multi-national Polish-Nordic Brigade, as well as, target aquisition capability with our FireFinder Radars.

Our "Red Legs'" sense of mission and urgency is second to none when it comes to being the "King of Battle".
