It pretty much comes down to this . . .

While it's fun to read every article associated with Penn State's football team, the Big Ten race this year, and the final weeks of competition leading up to BCS bowl selections, it all really comes down to 2 important points . . .

First, if PSU ends up the Big Ten Champs, they are guaranteed a major BCS bowl by virtue of the Big Ten Championship. Odds are good (not great) they'll prevail in that quest.

Second, even with another loss, PSU will play in the Capital One or Outback bowls. Should their season end with an appearance in either of these bowls, my opponent choice would be either Florida State (imagine Joe and Bobby as opposing coaches) or Alabama (geez, it's been too long since the last rivalry game between them.

Purdue at home this weekend, Homecoming 2005, PSU favored by 14 points . . . should be a good game!
